Fellowship Application

Ph.D. students whose research involves global health are invited to connect with our faculty, take part in programs and events, and contribute to the Eck Institute’s interdisciplinary community. This welcome extends to students from all colleges and departments at the University, whether or not they are Eck fellows.

Key Dates

Applications are currently being accepted. The deadline is Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 11:59pm Eastern Time. The information below outlines the process and requirements for students preparing to apply for funding for the 2027-28 academic year.

Application Format and Submission

Interested applicants must complete and assemble all of the following items:

  1. Basic application (Google Form). At the end of this form, there is a prompt to upload the PDF of the long application (listed next), which must include the additional items noted.
  2. Long application (Word Document). This document should be fully completed, then saved as a PDF. And these items must be added to this PDF:
    1. Letter of support from the faculty advisor
    2. Advisor’s biosketch, which includes current and pending research support

Ultimately, the basic application—complete with the uploaded PDF of the long application and its additional items—is the only item that is formally submitted. Applications that arrive in separate pieces will not be reviewed.
