Education & Training

The Eck Institute for Global Health (EIGH) is training the next generation of global health researchers and leaders through doctoral, postdoctoral, Master of Science in Global Health, and undergraduate programs. The EIGH also hosts the annual Notre Dame Global Health Case Competition. Learn more about our programming in the sections below.

PhD and Postdocs

The Institute established a graduate student fellowship program to support students enrolled in the University of Notre Dame PhD program.

New in 2023, the EIGH is excited to partner with the Notre Dame Environmental Change Initiative (ND-ECI) to offer a joint postdoctoral funding opportunity for outstanding PhDs pursuing research and training focused at the intersection of the environment and global health.

Masters

The Master of Science in Global Health program provides an engaging science-centric training in the context of global health.

Undergraduate

Open to undergraduates from all majors, the Minor in Global Health program leverages interdisciplinary collaborations to understand complex health needs of resource-poor populations around the world.

Other undergraduate opportunities are also available as a means to further our objectives of training students for global health research, supporting our faculty in their research endeavors, and increasing undergraduate participation within the Institute.

Notre Dame Global Health Case Competition

This competition brings together undergraduate and graduate students from multiple disciplines to creatively address critical global health challenges in a competitive and collaborative environment.
