VectorBase currently hosts the genomes and associated data of 43 organisms and provides bioinformatics tools to annotate genomes, perform comparative analyses, and analyze transcriptome data. Data types range from… genome assemblies, gene sets, transcript and protein expression data, and genetic variation data. VectorBase introduced a map-based browser that provides sample metadata, assays, genotypes, phenotypes, and pathogen status. Visualizations for these data include plots of numeric data, histograms, and zoomable/scrollable maps with automatically adjusting pie charts. Currently housed data includes population abundance, insecticide resistance genotypes and phenotypes, and pathogen status and blood meal analysis. This map is poised to accelerate the discovery process in reconfiguring the conceptual base of integrated data to inform the management and control of vector-borne disease.
