Join us for the Eck Institute for Global Health Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Speaker Series event featuring professor Bernadette Melnyk.

Melnyk will share insights on how investigators can strategically design their research to effectively partner with healthcare systems for research innovation and translation. Drawing from her groundbreaking work in pediatric mental health research, Melnyk will illustrate practical strategies for shortening the time it takes to integrate research innovations into systems of care.

Bernadette Melnyk, The Ohio State University

Bernadette Melnyk, Professor of Evidence-based Practice at The Ohio State University's College of Nursing also holds professorships in pediatrics and psychiatry at Ohio State’s College of Medicine. She is nationally and internationally recognized for her clinical expertise and innovative approaches to various healthcare challenges.

With a prolific career spanning evidence-based practice, intervention research, child and adolescent mental health, and health and wellness, Melnyk is a trailblazer in her field. A sought-after keynote speaker, Melnyk's influence extends beyond academia as she has provided consultation to hundreds of healthcare systems and colleges worldwide. Her guidance focuses on enhancing the quality of care and patient outcomes through the implementation and maintenance of evidence-based practice methodologies.

COPE Program Description (cope2thrive.com): Bernadette Melnyk is the creator of the COPE programs and founder of COPE2THRIVE, a manual-based COPE program that increases CBT access for children, teens, and young adults. This manual-based program is designed to increase access to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and help children, teens, and young adults effectively cope with anxiety, stress, and depression.

COPE's evidence-based CBT programs equip individuals with the necessary skills to manage negative or unhelpful thoughts and cultivate a more positive mindset. By learning how to control their responses to life's challenges, participants experience a profound sense of empowerment.
