Let's design CRISPR to benefit everyone while we still can

"If scientists in Africa can read open-access papers about CRISPR but have no means to use it in experiments, they still can't transform that knowledge into technologies that will improve the health of Africans."

Dr. Geoffrey Siwo, a member of the Eck Institute for Global Health staff and an affiliated faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences, spoke to TED Fellow Karen Eng about his new research on CRISPR, the innovative gene-editing tool. Dr. Siwo also discussed his own CRISPR technology developments and how he hopes to address disparities in CRISPR research.
