Arthropod Genomics Symposium

The University of Notre Dame's Eck Institute for Global Health will be hosting the 10th Arthropod Genomics Symposium on campus and in coordination with planning partners Kansas State Univeristy and hte University of Illinois.

The symposium will begin Thursday evening, June 8th and will conclude with a banquet on Saturday evening, June 10, 2017. The meeting in 2017 will be preceded by a two day Database Workshop, including VectorBase, WebApollo, i5k, OrthoDB, Hymenoptera Genome Database that begins the afternoon of June 7th and concludes in time for AGS opening session. The meeting and workshop will bring together scientists working or planning to work in the field of arthropod genomics with database developers and bioinformaticians. The workshop will have a group session and breakout sessions on specific topics including but not limited to: vectors, ag pests, and others depending on the interest of the participants.

The meeting will include poster sessions and the following oral sessions: 1) i5K Community/Emerging Genomes Session; 2) Ecological/Population Genomics; 3) Functional Genomics; 4) Vector Genomics; 5) Metagenomics; and 6) Sensory Genomics. Most sessions will have 2 invited speakers and 2 speakers chosen from the poster abstracts. The meeting is affordable as there is an option to stay in the campus dorms, reduced costs for students, and there are travel awards available for vector biologists.
