Leishmania and sand flies; just passing through
Dr. Dillon has wide ranging research interests focused on the microbial ecology of insects. His work centers around Leishmania - sand fly interactions and functional genomics of insect vectors of medically important diseases. Dr. Dillon is a co-PI of the sand fly genome sequencing project and his work also explores the digestive physiology of bloodsucking insects and natural antimicrobial systems. His public engagement activities includes working with DIYBio maker communities and the intersection of bioscience research and art.
