Marian Botchway joined the Eck Institute as a Program Director in October 2019. She is responsible for training initiatives, coordinating the Institute’s undergraduate engagement activities, and managing internal Institute programs. Previously, Marian was a CDC Foundation Fellow within CDC’s Center for Global Health and a Technical Advisor, assigned by the Carter Center, to support the Guinea Worm Eradication Program in Ethiopia. Marian has also conducted chronic disease research in Ghana with a focus on the role of social networks and social support in disease management. She has a B.S. in Biology from Washington and Lee University, an MPH from Emory University, and a PhD in public health from the University of South Carolina.
