Bock Delivers Keynote Address at Conference

The Eck Institute for Global Health's Joe Bock, PhD, Director of Global Health Training, will present the keynote address at Portland State University's conference, "Promoting Nonviolence, Addressing Hate & Preventing Global Conflicts: The Role of Media Outlets." On Friday, May 31, 2013, Bock will deliver "The Technology of Nonviolence: Social Media and Violence Prevention." This is also the title of his most recent book (MIT Press, 2012). The focus will be on violence prevention as an integral part of global health.

The conference is scheduled for Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm in the Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU) at Portland State University. The workshop is an initiative of Gonzaga University, Portland State University, and the Jabitz Family Foundation, with funding from both the foundation and the United States Institute of Peace.
