Through a Strategic Research Investment grant, Notre Dame has expanded core facilities in Genomics and Bioinformatics. To assist and encourage the Notre Dame research community to utilize these resources, Graduate Student Fellowships are being offered on a competitive basis. Exceptional students and projects that involve genomics and/or bioinformatics research will be selected based on the academic standing of the student, the merit of the research program, and the availability of funds to support the proposed research. Fellows must be associated with a full-time T&R or research faculty who are eligible to submit research grants at the University of Notre Dame or the Indiana University School of Medicine at South Bend. These will be 12-month stipends at the standard departmental rate. Fellows will be required to submit a short report (3-5 pages) on their research activities midway through their fellowship and a final report at the conclusion of their fellowship. Fellows are expected to have the opportunity to renew based on the criteria outlined for primary applicants and the timely submission of their reports.
Applications are due by 1 July 2009 to Katherine Taylor, Director of Operations, Eck Institute for Global Health, Biology Department, 109 Galvin Life Science
