The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is the mother church for the Congregation of Holy Cross in the United States. The neo-gothic church features 44 large stained glass windows and murals completed over 17 years by the Vatican painter Luigi Gregori. A museum, open to the public, displays numerous church and Notre Dame artifacts. In the summer of 2016, a new organ was installed.
DeBartolo Performing Arts Center (DePAC) is an inclusive, second-city destination for the region's premier Visiting Artist Series—art with a point of view—informed by reflection on our Catholic character and inspired by the academy's pursuit of knowledge. In this spirit, we ask the art we love to reveal its secrets to us such that we can soak up perspective, beliefs central to our humanity and simply experience pure joy. Here dance, music, theater, and cinema aren't charming diversions: They are unconventional inspirations.
